About...
Life for Michael started as a singer. He's been performing over 50 years! Growing up watching a lot of cartoons and comedy shows, Michael discovered he was pretty good at imitating voices. From Marvin The Martian to Goofy, if he heard it, he could imitate it.

The 70s and 80s were rich with vocal content! Redd Foxx, Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor were just a few of the popular imitations going around the hallways and lunch rooms at school. Monty Python's Flying Circus was a must see event every Tuesday at 8pm on public television. By lunch time the next day, side splitting laughter came from almost everywhere!

In college, Michael may have majored in music education, but his passion was singing in jazz choir, playing bass in rock bands and learning songwriting. His
​skill for vocal imitation and character creation started to blossom.
​
After college, Michael moved to Seattle. From record store clerk to salon products delivery, computer sales and service to software testing, underneath every 'day job' was some sort of musical or performing going on with him.
After 23 years in tech, Michael was laid off and began searching for a new direction. Many had told him over the years that voice work was his calling and after completing his voice training the fall of 2024, 'The Wanz' (his stage name) has brought his richly textured vocal talents to you! In 2012, Michael got the opportunity to sing on this guy's
recording. Rumor has it, the session took about 45 minutes of work, but the result was all anyone could have ever imagined!

That one record went multi-platinum around the world!! Wanz got to live a dream come true touring, performing on tv and stages around the world until 2015 when he went back to software testing but only after "Thrift Shop had won him a Grammy and a Diamond Award!
